Overview
The SDP Annual Conference and Training is going online! Join SDP this Fall for the excellent conference and training you have come to expect from our in-person events, adapted to an online environment. Our top priority is
keeping you and your colleagues safe while fulfilling our mission of providing depreciation education and training. We hope you can attend, and we can't wait to see you again in person in Phoenix in 2021.
Annual Conference
The Annual Conference and Business Meeting will be hosted on Monday, September 14 from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM EDT. Attendees can expect a two-session program (2 CPEs) alongside the business meeting.
The agenda and speakers are confirmed!
- Electric Vehicles - Mary Anne Sullivan, Senior Counsel, Hogan Lovells US LLP
- Asset Existence Testing and Impact on Balance Sheet - Steve Nichols and Jolie Usry, E&Y LLP
Training
For your convenience, we have separated our 5-hour courses (previously offered on Sunday before the Conference) into manageable short sessions offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM EDT. Similarly, we repackaged our Extended Training
into 10-hour courses also offered Tuesdays and Thursdays 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM EDT.
Classes that could not fit into the 10-hour courses are offered as electives on select Wednesdays at 11:00 AM EDT or 3:00 PM EDT and available to anyone registered for a 10-hour Training course. We list recommended electives for each of our 10-hour
courses, but you may take ANY elective you want! Some electives are split into Sessions 1 and 2; it is recommended that you take the sessions together. Taking a 10-hour course together with all of its recommended electives gives you all of the
topics that were included when this course was offered as an Extended Training course. Find detailed information on the Fall Training Courses here.
This year provides the rare opportunity to take Introduction to Depreciation as a quick review after taking Depreciation Fundamentals. Our most popular course, Depreciation Fundamentals,
will introduce you to the fundamental concepts of depreciation: data collection and auditing, life and salvage analysis, and depreciation calculation and accounting. These concepts will then be reviewed in the two sessions of Introduction to Depreciation, which
also includes a discussion of unit v. group depreciation and the importance and challenges of depreciation.
